![]() The first group you’ll encounter consists of two Copperbell Coblyns and one Spriggan Copper Copper. The only thing of note with this first pack is that the Spriggans eventually cast Haste on themselves, causing them to attack faster. You’ll likely kill them before that’s a major problem. One of the enemies will drop a Tiny Key, which you’ll use on the nearby Sealed Blasting Door. Within the next room, you’ll find a Lift Lever. Interact with it to descend into the mine itself. There’s a lot of interaction in this dungeon.įollowing the main path to the east, you’ll run into another Copperbell Coblyn and Spriggan Copper Copper. Near the next Copperbell Coblyn, a Hecatoncheir Stonehauler will burst out of the wall. This larger enemy has an occasional Grand Slam attack that will hit your tank decently hard, so be prepared. After this, you’ll run into a few packs of standard enemies with the addition of the Thunder-casting Lightning Sprites. You’ll eventually come to a Blasting Device, though this won’t activate until you put twelve ounces of Firesand in the nearby Powder Chamber. You’ll find one bag with six ounces of Firesand to the east and another to the north. Once you’ve picked up both, place them in the Powder Chamber and activate the Blasting Device to blow up the wall. Kottos is the first boss of Copperbell Mines and offers a slight preview of the dungeon’s final boss. Grand Slam: This is the single-target tankbuster. This fight happens in a circular arena, with no danger zones to worry about. Lumbering Leap: The boss will mark three large circular AoEs on the arena, leaving a small section of safe space.Tanks, be prepared to use your cooldowns. Catapult: Kottos picks a party member at random and begins casting this attack.Ĭolossal Slam: A large cone AoE radiating from the boss.Once the cast ends, Kottos will jump on the marked sections in succession. At the end of the cast, it’ll throw a rock at its target Once downed, Kottos will drop a Tiny Key and Treasure Coffer. The east group consists of a Blasting Cap and Errant Soul, while the west group contains a Blasting Cap, Errant Soul, and Spriggan Copper Copper. The Blasting Caps have the Firesand you need and will drop it when they die. It’s a great way to organize all that work the team put in on Assassin’s Creed Origins, and help give the game a second purpose as a learning tool.Once you open up the shaft, you’ll be introduced to a small tunnel with a bag of Firesand. They’ll learn about various things through Discovery Tour, like the mummification process, the construction of landmarks, politics, and more. Discovery Tour Mode puts the focus squarely on history, taking away combat and challenges, and letting players roam around Ancient Egypt guided by virtual history lessons. The extra time the team took for research and history shines though, and there’s another small treat Assassin’s Creed fans will get early next year. Iconic moments in ancient history are portrayed through the game, and the depiction of Ancient Egypt Ubisoft has created tries to stick to reality as much as possible. Their research helped them move beyond clichéd depictions of Egypt, even going so far as to shape the unique topographies of the game’s vast deserts.”Ī major character in Origins is Cleopatra and the main characters of the game, Bayek and Aya, interact directly with her, as well as Julius Caesar. Being so far back in the past, certain parts of history remain unclear and unknown, but a post on the Ubiblog details some of the team’s efforts, “To represent these areas in the game, Durand says, the developers consulted Egyptologists and studied a wide variety of materials on ancient Egypt, including movies and comic books as well as historical texts and documentaries. Origins puts things farther back in history than we’ve ever been with Assassin’s Creed though, and the team has clearly done their research this time around. Assassin’s Creed has always had a fascinating way of playing with history, from the American Revolution of AC III to the French Revolution of AC Unity.
